Gene Champagne- Too Pop For Punk…Too Punk To Care

Gene Champagne hailing from Hamilton, Ontario Canada is known for drummer of the influential punk pioneers Teenage Head, also a founding member and drummer of The Killjoys, a band that was a staple and ruled in the Canadian 90's music scene, and current drummer of punk veterans, The Black Halos. Not just a drummer Champagne is also known as a solo artist when he takes front and center from behind the kit to deliver a collection of fine power pop, punk and rock and roll.

His latest LP release  ‘Too Pop For Punk…Too Punk To Care’ is appropriately titled and is pure punk’n’roll. Champagne taps into the late 70’s powerpop, punk, rock and roll as if it never went out of style with a culmination of originals while including his take on the bubble gum classic Yummy Yummy Yummy and cult surf hit I Can’t Pretend. Both of which have landed on Little Steven’s Coolest Songs and made # 1 on the worldwide music charts. The Look Out records leaning original singles Gimme Ammuniton and She’s An Atom Bomb which have been included on this vinyl release have also landed at the top on the charts.
